I thought he was going to “surprise” us with something Tartarian-related(I think they should be called “Columbian” and not “Tartarian”, but that’s a separate post) but he instead revealed that this was not a Russian/Stalinist style of architecture at all but was actually invented by the British. Which was even more surprising actually.
That huge concrete hotel in North Korea was definitely a leftover ruin from the previous civilization and that had many of the architectural trademarks that these Brutalist structures had. It’s likely not that easy to tell these older concrete buildings apart from the later “Brutalist” structures anymore. By design surely.
